News Flash: Monday March 21st, 2016
- For tomorrow’s class (Tuesday March 22nd), please bring one scholarly, secondary source for your ISU Literary Research Essay (this can be printed or accessible on your laptop). Please make sure that you have read this source completely prior to coming to class tomorrow. We will be working on one of your annotations for your Annotated Bibliography Assignment in class. You must arrive prepared!
News Flash: Your MARCH BREAK HOMEWORK!
Your March Break homework is the following:
- Read Act 1 of Hamlet (take notes for yourself about what you find important from each scene, and write down any questions that you have so that we can discuss these questions upon your return to class)
- Continue to research for your ISU Literary Research Essay (use JSTOR to help you find FIVE relevant and credible scholarly sources for your essay). You will need these academic sources for your Annotated Bibliography assignment (to be taught and completed after the break – due April 4th, 2016).
News Flash: Wednesday March 9th, 2016
Reminders for your Personal Persuasive Essay Evaluation:
1. It is due on Thursday March 10th, 2016 at the beginning of class.
2. Please hand in your Personal Persuasive Essay Evaluation in the following order:
i) Your rubric (detached from the assignment sheet) with your name on it
ii) A typed, double-spaced good copy of your essay with a creative title (and a Works Cited page if applicable)
iii) An edited rough copy (edited by you and two peers)
iv) Two completed peer editing sheets
3. According to correct MLA formatting, you do not need a title page for your essay.
4. You must include your name, your teacher’s name (Mrs. A. Robinson), your course code (ENG4U1-06 for period #2 or ENG4U1-07 for period #5), and the assignment due date (Thursday March 10th, 2016) in the top, left-hand corner of the first page of your essay. Also, a header with your last name and the page number should also be included in the top, right-hand corner on all pages of your essay.
5. Be sure to correctly cite all quotations in your essay using MLA format. If you include quotations in your essay, you must also attach a separate Works Cited page with your essay. If you do not include quotations, you do not need a Works Cited page.
6. You must submit a paper copy of your essay in class, and an electronic copy of your essay onto www.turnitin.com by 11:59PM on Thursday March 10th, 2016 or you will not receive a grade on this assignment.
